Ekal New Zealand Celebrates International Yoga Day

On June 23, 2024, Ekal New Zealand celebrated International Yoga Day in association with the Waikato Indian Association supported by High Commission of India in Hamilton, NZ. The event featured a yoga session conducted by Sanjay Joshi, followed by a presentation on Ekal by Nandan Modak. The celebration highlighted the importance of yoga and raised awareness about Ekal's initiatives.

Friends of Tribals Society, Surat Celebrates International Yoga Day

On June 20, 2024, the Friends of Tribals Society (FTS) Women's Committee celebrated International Yoga Day with students from Amkoor School. Renowned choreographer Jalpaa Modi led a yoga dance session, and certified yoga instructor Dr. Shivani Bilimoria from Art of Living conducted a yoga session. The event saw participation from 25 committee members and 150 students, highlighting the importance of yoga in student life, personality development, and social harmony.

Friends of Tribals Society Receives Jharkhand Ratna Award 2024

On April 28, 2024, Friends of Tribals Society (FTS) was honored with the 'Jharkhand Ratna Award 2024' for its exceptional work in education for rural and tribal children, as well as its rural and social welfare initiatives nationwide. The award was accepted by Smt. Rekha Jain, Chairperson of FTS East Zone.

Ekal Walk and Rally for Rural Tribes: A Successful Event by Friends of Tribals Society

On June 9, 2024, at Amar Jawan Jyoti, Jaipur, the Friends of Tribals Society, (FTS) Jaipur Chapter celebrated its 17th anniversary with an Ekal Walk and Rally promoting village education. The event, featuring performances and a lamp-lighting ceremony, highlighted the Ekal campaign's efforts in providing education to rural tribal children. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from village children, FTS officials, and members, concluding with speeches and cultural performances.

Ekal Abhiyan Inspires Success: Nisha Sahu's Journey

Nisha Sahu from Srinagar village, inspired by the Ekal Abhiyan, overcame personal hardships to complete her B.A. and become an Ekal Acharya. In 2021, she was selected for the CRPF and now serves in West Bengal. Nisha credits Ekal Abhiyan for transforming her life and expresses her deep gratitude.

Orangh Village Festival Celebrates the Arrival of Ekal Shri Hari Mandir Rath

On June 9, 2024, in Guwahati, the Ekal Shri Hari Mandir Rath arrived at Paoripota Durga Temple in Orangh village, Udalguri region. Villagers welcomed the Rath, celebrating as if Lord Shri Ramchandra had journeyed from Ayodhya to their village. The event featured traditional rituals, worship, singing, and dancing, with all villagers participating in the grand celebration.

Environmental Awareness Essay Competition and Sapling Program

Ekal Gramothon Foundation organized an essay competition on environmental awareness for students at the Integrated Village Development Center in Gaddige, Mysuru, Karnataka, as part of World Environment Day. Additionally, a sapling program was held in Singara Maranahalli and Devgalli villages, with notable attendees including Manjula, Gram Panchayat Development Officer, project coordinator Govith Kiran, Government school headmistress Sasikala, and community members.

Certificate Distribution Ceremony at Ekal On Wheel and WEC Mahabubnagar

On May 26, 2024, a certificate distribution ceremony was held for 172 students of Ekal on Wheels and WEC Mahabubnagar, Telangana. The event featured lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana, guest honors, and student experiences. Certificates were awarded for software testing training. Coordinators Vinay Kumar, trainers, committee members, and volunteers attended, blessing the students for bright futures. Families were also informed about the organization.

Shri Ramesh Shah's Inspiring Village Visits

Shri Ramesh Shah visited numerous Ekal villages in Gujarat from April 21 to 29, including Dholikham, Kochabar, Kharata, Timla, Samarpada, and many others. He also explored the skill development center in Jespore (Netrang), the computer training lab and WEC in Chhota Udaipur, and the WEC in Mahisagar. Additionally, from May 3 to 19, he toured over 60 villages in Uttar Pradesh, such as Barava Khash, Jayapur, Rani Chaukiya, and more. Shri Gaurangbhai Vaishnav joined him, and they distributed 106 Navodaya Vidyalaya exam preparation books.

FTS Youth Committee Jamshedpur's Vanyatra to Ghatshila School

On May 2, 2024, the FTS Youth Committee Jamshedpur held a vanyatra to Bhurishol village school in Ghatshila, South Jharkhand. The youth committee received a warm welcome with tilak, traditional drums, and a tiger dance. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Reshmi Garg, President of the Youth Committee, and other officials, followed by a prayer from Ekal school children. The birthdays of Iwish and Krishav, the children of the committee members were celebrated with blessings and tilak. Competitions in general knowledge, counting, and multiplication were held, with prizes for outstanding students. All children received sweets, toffees, Fruity drinks, and umbrellas. The committee members, impressed by the Ekal children, promised to visit again. The event also saw the presence of regional team workers.
