The Layam & Thalam Workshop is a 2- day hands-on and immersive workshop designed to teach the basics and importance of laya and thalam in Carnatic Vocal and Instrumental music. By the end of the workshop, students will gain an increased understanding of various thalams and build increased confidence while performing with percussion accompaniments on stage. All proceeds from the workshop will support Ekal Vidyala.
About the instructors: Vineeth Godavarti and Maheedhar Athreya have been learning mridangam for over ten years and have performed in various concerts. They have a deep understanding of carnatic music and thalams, and they are eager to share their knowledge for a greater purpose.
